Cabarrus Sheriff’s Office app gets major upgrade
Published on June 27, 2025
Staying connected just got easier. The Cabarrus County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO) has rolled out a suite of updates to its free mobile app—putting safety, support and services directly in residents’ hands.
The app was originally developed through grant funding to make it easier for the public to engage with the Sheriff’s Office. Fusing technology and accessibility, it helps residents stay informed, report concerns and find support 24/7.
The updates expand on that mission with simplified features, added functionality and even more opportunities to get involved in community safety.
Whether you’re looking to report a scam, schedule a deputy for an event or connect with your child’s School Resource Officer, it’s all just a few taps away.
New community outreach component
This brand-new section makes it easier to learn about—and get involved in—local public safety efforts. Users can:
- Join or start a Neighborhood Watch
- Explore partnerships with organizations like Cabarrus Health Alliance, Cabarrus Active Living and Parks and Safe Kids Cabarrus
- Participate in Operation Medicine Takeback and find locations to securely and anonymously dispose of expired or unwanted medication at the Sheriff’s Office
- Stay in the loop on events like National Night Out and Coffee with a Cop
New education section
Parents and educators can now quickly find school safety resources, including:
- Direct access to the “See Something, Say Something” tip line
- Contact info for your school’s CCSO School Resource Officer (for county schools with assigned officers)
Improved hiring section

- A cleaner, more visual layout
- Recruitment videos and FAQs
- Info on pay, benefits and available positions
- Direct links to apply for Deputy, Detention Officer or Telecommunicator roles
Enhanced inmate search and jail information
Now consolidated to find what you need faster, including:
- Contact info for Public Defender’s Office or Legal Aid
- Bail bonding and booking procedures
Upgraded forms
The app’s streamlined interactive forms are expanded to include:
- Church security and safety audit request
- Hiring an off-duty deputy interest form
- Updated sound amplification permit
- Ride-along request and tour scheduling
These forms help residents quickly connect with the right team—whether for crime prevention, event planning or community partnership.
Updated visual sex offender map
Residents can now use a new map feature from the N.C. State Bureau of Investigation to better understand known offender locations—supporting transparency and safety awareness.
With these updates, CCSO continues its commitment to building trust, increasing transparency and strengthening its connection to the community it serves.
The app is free and available for Apple and Android devices.
