The Active Living and Parks Commission serves as the advisory body to the Board of County Commissioners. They are also a liaison between:
- The Active Living and Parks Department
- The Senior Centers Advisory Council
- Cabarrus County citizens
The Commission advises on the following matters related to the Active Living and Parks department and Senior Centers:
- Policy
- Programming
- Staffing
- Finance
The 11-member Commission has representatives from the following areas:
- Concord
- Eastern
- Senior Centers Advisory Committee
- Central
- Cabarrus County School Board
- Kannapolis
- Kannapolis City School Board
- Midland,
- Northwest
- Harrisburg
- At-Large Representatives
Appointments are for three-year terms.
