#CabCoALERT

What is the #CabCoAlert service?

The #CabCoAlert service allows authorized County leaders to rapidly disseminate time–sensitive messages. These messages go to every phone number and email address in the database. They can be received as phone calls, emails, text messages and/or phone apps.  With this service, authorized users can send thousands of messages in minutes. Only authorized officials can access to the system.

In an emergency, the Sheriff’s Office and local police are able to place evacuation calls to your home land line. Residents are still encouraged to register their cell phones. Registration increases the likelihood you receive notification of evacuation and post-event all clear.

How does the service work?

Authorized officials record a voice message. This message is quickly delivered to individual phones in the notification database.

How do I register?

1) Visit and complete the registration process online. An email address is required to register using this method.

2) Download the Everbridge contact app from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store. Register your device. This method only subscribes you to emergency alerts. An email address is required to register using this method.

3) For notifications within your zip-code. Text your zip-code to 888-7777.

Web Portal and Mobile Apps

CabCoALERT is an emergency and non-emergency alert notification system. Anyone who lives, works or travels through Cabarrus should register for the system. Registration takes approximately five minutes. You may enter up to five locations within the county.

By signing up, you are registering for emergency alerts. You can pick and choose which additional, non-emergency, alerts to register for. Non-emergency alerts include:
  • traffic alerts
  • information about solid waste collection
  • special events within specific jurisdictions

What types of messages are sent using the service?

CabCoALERT messages include anything about the safety or welfare of our community. Examples include:

  • severe weather warnings
  • hazardous traffic or road conditions inside the town or affecting local routes
  • any other situation impacting the safety, property or welfare of our citizens.

Does #CabCoAlert replace other systems used to inform residents?

This system is a significant enhancement to existing means of communication. It is supplemental to, not a replacement for, the systems we have used in the past. TV, radio, social media and our web site continue to broadcast important announcements.

May I use a cell phone as my notification database listing?

Yes, we can accept cell phones as primary and secondary phone numbers. We recommend requesting the inclusion of your mobile number.
