Early voting allows voters to cast a ballot at any early voting site before the election. This can be done, in person, on select days prior to Election Day. This is different from Election Day, where registered voters can only vote at their assigned precinct. Each early voting site has all the ballot styles for a given election.
During the early voting period, voters may register to vote and vote at the same time, as long as sufficient proof of name and address is provided. When you present to vote at an early voting site, you may change your name or address, if needed.
All voters at early voting sites will be asked to show a photo ID, just as on Election Day.
Early voting for the 2026 General Election will take place at the following 4 sites:
- Cabarrus EMS HQ Station 9 (793 Cabarrus Ave. W. Concord, NC 28025)
- Afton Ridge Active Living Center and Library (6905 Glen Afton Blvd. Kannapolis, NC 28027)
- Cabarrus Arena and Events Center (4751 NC Hwy 49, Concord, NC 28025)
- Rowan-Cabarrus Community College @ NC Research Campus (399 Biotechnology Ln. Kannapolis, NC 28081)
Early voting will run from the following times at all sites:
- Thursday, October 15 - Friday, October 16 from 8:00 am - 7:30 pm
- Saturday, October 17 from 8:00 am - 5:00 pm
- Monday, October 19 - Friday, October 23 from 8:00 am - 7:30 pm
- Saturday, October 24 from 8:00 am - 5:00 pm
- Monday, October 26 - Friday, October 30 from 8:00 am - 7:30 pm
- Saturday, October 31 from 8:00 am - 3:00 pm
