Cabarrus County is under a winter weather warning and extreme cold warning, with heavy snow predicted for Saturday.

Cabarrus County Government active living centers, parks, library branches and landfill will be closed on Saturday (Jan. 31) due to the forecast of heavy snow. A decision on Sunday park hours will be made at a later time.

County officials urge residents to be prepared to stay home and off the roads if at all possible.
