Municipal Election early voting begins Thursday in Cabarrus

        In-person early voting for the 2025 Cabarrus Municipal Election kicks off on Thursday, Oct. 16.
The upcoming election allows voters who live within city or town limits to decide key local races that shape their communities. Residents of Cabarrus County who live outside municipal boundaries are not eligible to vote in this election.
Cabarrus voters can cast their ballot at the Board of Elections Office (369 Church St. N, Concord).
Dates and times are:
- Thursday, Oct. 16 through Friday, Oct. 17, 8 a.m. to 7 p.m.
- Monday, Oct. 20 through Friday, Oct. 24, 8 a.m. to 7 p.m.
- Monday, Oct. 27 through Friday, Oct. 31, 8 a.m. to 7 p.m.
- Saturday, Nov. 1, 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Voters may change their name or address during the in-person early voting process.
The deadline to register to vote on Election Day (Nov. 4) is Friday, October 10 at 5 p.m. Registration is not available on Election Day.
Unregistered early voters enjoy a special provision that allows them to register on the same day they early vote. Same-day registrants must show documentation with their current address. Same-day registrants must show documentation with their current address. Acceptable documentation includes:
- A North Carolina driver’s license or other government-issued photo identification showing the voter’s name and address
- A copy of a utility bill, bank statement, paycheck, government check or other government document showing the voter’s name and address
- For students living on campus, documentation from an educational institution with the student’s name and on-campus housing address
Registered voters may request, receive and vote a mail-in absentee ballot. Visit https://www.ncsbe.gov/voting/vote-mail to learn more and request an absentee ballot by Oct. 21 at 5 p.m.

Bring ID
North Carolina voters must show a photo ID when voting in-person and by mail. If a Cabarrus voter does not have an acceptable photo ID, they can get one free from the Board of Elections office. Visit www.ncsbe.gov/voting/voter-id to learn more, including a rundown of acceptable photo IDs.
