Cabarrus Social Services to host final community health fair of 2026

Staying healthy, keeping warm and knowing where to turn for help are all important as winter approaches. Cabarrus County Social Services is hosting its final community health fair of the year to help residents connect with resources and support.

The winter health fair will take place Friday, Nov. 13, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Cabarrus EMS Headquarters, 793 Cabarrus Ave. W. Residents can drop in to connect with community partners and get free items and services while supplies last.

Free offerings include lunch, cold weather gear, books and flu vaccines, along with additional resources and services. Participating organizations include NC Medicaid Health Plans, Books on the House, Save the Children, Medicaid Enrollment Broker and more.

My Orthodontist is sponsoring lunch for the event.

Help neighbors stay warm this winter

Community members can also help others prepare for colder weather by donating winter essentials through Friday, Nov. 6. Donations will be distributed to residents at the health fair.

Accepted items include:

  • New or gently used coats, gloves, hats and scarves
  • New socks

Donations can be dropped off at either of the following locations:

  • DSS Cannon: 1303 S. Cannon Blvd., Kannapolis
  • DSS Milestone: 4855 Milestone Ave., Kannapolis
