Tips for filing to run for office

What to bring:

  • A valid ID for notarization purposes
  • Check for filing fees (cash is ok if the filing fee is $50 or less)
  • Any completed campaign finance documents (not required)

What to expect:

  • If arriving on the first or last day of filing, you can expect to wait
  • Officials will verify your eligibility to file for office
  • Filing paperwork will be completed, signed and notarized
  • Filing fees must be paid at the time of filing
  • Campaign finance questions will be answered after the filing process
