Lace up for the 24th Annual Jack O’ Lantern Jaunt 5K

Bring your costumes, crew and competitive spirit, and celebrate the spooky season at the 24th Annual Jack O’ Lantern Jaunt 5K, happening Saturday, Oct. 25, at Frank Liske Park.

The evening kicks off with the Fun Run at 5 p.m., followed by the 5K race at 5:30 p.m. Raceday registration will be available at the registration tent.

Participants can pick up race packets at Frank Liske Park on Friday, Oct. 24, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., or on Saturday, Oct. 25, from 4 to 5:30 p.m. at the registration tent.

Awards will be presented to the Top Overall Male and Female, along with Master and Grand Master divisions. Individual awards will recognize the top three male and female finishers in each age group.

Participants are encouraged to get in the Halloween spirit and dress in costume, as special awards will be given for the best dressed.

The Jack O’ Lantern Jaunt 5K is presented by Cabarrus County Active Living and Parks and sponsored by Ground Thunder.

Touch-A-Truck

Cabarrus County Active Living and Parks is also hosting the seventh annual Touch-a-Truck. Families can get an up-close look at emergency vehicles, construction equipment and more during the event Saturday, Nov. 1, from 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Cabarrus Arena & Events Center, 4751 NC Hwy 49, Concord. The event, sponsored by Mulch Solutions, is free and open to the public. Parking is $8 (debit or credit card only).
