Health Fair bringing infant, toddler resources to community

From 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Friday (September 12), the Cabarrus County Department of Social Services is hosting its third health fair of 2025 at Bethel Baptist Church Ministries in Kannapolis.  

The free event, which focuses on infants and toddlers, includes lunch sponsored by Monarch.

A children’s clothing closet will be available onsite, along with books, blankets and other safety items. The giveaways are first-come, first-served. Officials are also accepting food and clothing donations at the event.  

Along with the food and clothing drive, information and resources about NC Medicaid Health plans will be available.  

Officials are performing car seat checks and there will be a display on the dangers of heat in a parked car.  

Those who attend can also receive free medical screenings through CRCHC Medical - McGill. AmeriHealth Caritas will be providing pre- and post-partum educational materials. 

Walgreens is offering free flu shots during the health fair. Those interested should book an appointment by texting FLU to 66879. The vaccinations are being provided by Walgreens #19702, located at 8520 Park Rd, Charlotte NC, 28210.
