Camp Spencer Pool

It’s almost time to grab your swimwear and head to Camp T.N. Spencer Park for a splash, as the popular pool opens this weekend.

Opening day is Saturday, May 24 at 10 a.m. Weekend and holiday hours are 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., and weekday hours are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

This year, Cabarrus County has installed an extra layer of safety through a partnership between Active Living and Parks and Information Technology.

Weather stations have been added to Camp T.N. Spencer, as well as the County’s other park facilities, including Frank Liske Park, Virginia Foil Park and Rob Wallace Park.

The stations have lightening detectors, sirens and strobe lights when there is a storm in the area. Alerts will also be sent to park staff providing real-time data and alerts when there is an event.

Pool reservations are $5 per day, and residents can walk-in or pre-register online by visiting www.cabarruscounty.us/ALP, clicking “Register for a Program or Event,” selecting the “Park Programs” tab and clicking the pool option under Camp T.N. Spencer.

Pool reservations are first-come, first-served and can be made for the whole day.

No coolers (unless it contains baby supplies) or glass is allowed in the pool area. Concessions are available.

For birthday parties, it’s recommended that visitors book one of the open shelters at the park and pre-book pool wristbands for attendees.
