Cabarrus County has launched the Resource Hub, an app designed to help residents quickly and easily find community resources and support.

The site, resourcehub.cabarruscounty.us, allows users to search for services by category, including care, education, food, financial, goods, health, housing, legal, transit and work.

Residents can download information by individual category, save the full resource list as a PDF or select a booklet format for printing. It also provides a direct link to the state ePASS service and multiple Department of Social Services (DSS) divisions.

The application also offers translation in Spanish, Chinese, French and Hindi.

Prior to the development of the hub, DSS maintained four separate lists, which were manually updated. As the lists grew and updates became more complex, the County’s Information Technology Services (ITS) department partnered with DSS to create a centralized application to house all information in one place.

“By moving from multiple lists to a single, dynamic platform, we can keep information current and remove barriers to finding services,” says DSS Director Hollye McCallum. “ITS was instrumental in developing a solution that makes it easier for residents to connect with critical resources, while also shifting our focus from managing lists to serving people.”

The Resource Hub is built to evolve as programs and services change, offering residents a centralized, continually updated tool for finding the resources they need.

About Cabarrus County DSS

Cabarrus DSS operates as part of the County’s Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS), which is structured as a Consolidated Human Services Agency (CHSA).

A CHSA is a county agency that brings together social services and other community resources to better serve residents. This model benefits communities by providing:

  • Improved service delivery
  • A multi-disciplinary approach
  • Budgetary savings
  • Improved efficiency

DHHS integrates Social Services with Behavioral Health, Child Support, Transportation and Veterans Services. These programs also work collaboratively with the Cabarrus Health Alliance and other local health organizations.
