Cabarrus County Labor Day closings

Cabarrus County Government offices, including the Government Center, Human Services Center, County Landfill (Irish Potato Road), Household Hazardous Waste Facility (Highway 49), Board of Elections, LunchPlus Club, Animal Shelter and Veterans Services will close Monday, Sept. 1, in observance of Labor Day. 

The Cabarrus County Landfill on Irish Potato Road will operate Saturday, Aug. 30, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. The next Household Hazardous Waste event is Wednesday, Sept. 3 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. 

All branches of the Cabarrus County Public Library System will close Monday, Sept. 1, and resume normal hours and programming Tuesday, Sept. 2.  

All Cabarrus County Active Living Centers will close Monday, Sept. 1. 

Cabarrus County parks, including Camp T.N. Spencer, Frank Liske, Rob Wallace, Vietnam Veterans and Virginia Foil, will remain open on their normal schedules. 

The Camp T.N. Spencer pool will operate Saturday, Aug. 30 through Monday, Sept. 1 from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., then close for the season. 

Republic Services curbside garbage and recycling collection for residents in unincorporated Cabarrus will operate on a regular schedule. 

The Cabarrus County Board of Commissioners Work Session, typically held the first Monday of the month, will move to Tuesday, Sept. 2, at 5 p.m.

Cabarrus County Fair & Rodeo kicks off Sept. 5 

Get ready for the 2025 Cabarrus County Fair & Rodeo, held at the Cabarrus Arena and Events Center. The event runs Friday, Sept. 5, through Saturday, Sept. 13, rain or shine. Rodeo nights take place Sept. 5-6 and 12-13.
