As part of the response to the prior Federal Government shutdown, Cabarrus County worked with local non-profits to determine community needs.

Following those discussions, several requests were outlined in the final report.

During their November 17, 2025 Regular Meeting, Cabarrus County Commissioners encouraged residents to step up and contribute to these organizations:

Second Harvest Food Bank requested replenishing support for food resources for Cabarrus County residents.

Cooperative Christian Ministry requested $22,000 - $25,000 for crisis and food assistance.

1CAN requested $8,550 for snack bags for local schools.

Multiply Church requested in-kind logistical support for the distribution of food resources.

Meals on Wheels of Cabarrus County requested $51,000 for assistance with senior meal delivery.

Other smaller agencies requested that applications be opened for consideration for future support.
