Deputy salutes during the 2021 Law Day event

On Friday, May 5, the public is invited to a special Law Enforcement Day & Peace Officers Memorial ceremony to show their appreciation of our local law enforcement officers and commemorate the development of law in the United States.

The ceremony will take place at the Cabarrus County Fallen Law Enforcement Officers Memorial (The corner of 30 Corban Ave SE and 65 Church Street S) at 10:45 a.m.

Attendance is encouraged to support every individual and their families, who work tirelessly to protect the Cabarrus County community. The ceremony will also be broadcast live on the Cabarrus County Facebook page (@CabarrusCountyGovernment).

The ceremony is a long-standing tradition in Cabarrus County that is representative of national celebrations dedicated to the officers of and ties between written law and the pursuit of order.

During the ceremony, a deserving veteran law enforcement officer will receive the Robert Jackson Eury Memorial Award in memory of the deputy sheriff killed in the line of duty in 1972.

To conclude the ceremony, local law enforcement officers who died in the line of duty in Cabarrus County and their families will be recognized at the Cabarrus County Law Enforcement Memorial, just outside the Government Center.
