2026 Battle of the Badges Blood Drive

Anyone eligible to donate blood can participate in this blood drive.

The competition is heating up as the third annual Battle of the Badges blood drive returns July 20-23! This year, it's bigger than ever with four opportunities to donate across four days:

Monday, July 20: Laureate Center and Mt. Pleasant Lion's Club Hut
Tuesday, July 21: EMS Headquarters (hotdog lunch provided)
Wednesday, July 22: Harrisburg Fire Department
Thursday, July 23: EMS Headquarters (hotdog lunch provided)

This year, community members can donate blood in honor of EMS, fire or law enforcement instead of individual agencies. The public safety group with the most donations will earn bragging rights and take home the Battle of the Badges trophy.

Every donation makes a difference. According to the Red Cross:

One donation can save up to three lives
Someone in the U.S. needs blood every two seconds
While 37% of people are eligible to donate, fewer than 10% do

Last year's event collected more than 218 pints of blood, setting a new North Carolina record. This year, organizers hope to surpass that milestone.

Donors can also enjoy food, door prizes and giveaways throughout the event. Cast your vote for your favorite public safety team, but most importantly, help save lives.
