Each year, Cabarrus County Veterans Services collaborates with the Boys & Girls Club of Cabarrus County to honor local heroes at a special Veterans Day Celebration.

As part of this year’s event, recently retired United States Marine Reymond Moore will speak about his 30-year military career and his new role with Cabarrus Veterans Services.

“I’d like to invite everyone to come out and celebrate with us,” said Veterans Services Director Tony Miller. “We want veterans to showcase their service and their branches and give us a chance to say ‘thank you.’”

The event will be held on Saturday (November 11) at 11 a.m. at the Boys and Girls Club of Cabarrus County (247 Spring St. NW). Refreshments will be provided by Oak Grove Baptist Church Veterans Ministry.

All Cabarrus veterans are invited to the celebration.

Cabarrus participating in Operation Green Light

Cabarrus County is shining a green light at several buildings to honor veterans as part of the Operation Green Light, an initiative of the North Carolina Association of County Commissioners, the National Association of Counties and the National Association of County Veteran Service Officers.

County residents are asked to share in the recognition and shine a light of hope and support for veterans through November 12. The recognition shows veterans that they are seen, appreciated and supported.

During Cabarrus County Commissioners October Regular Meeting, the board recognized the contributions and sacrifices of the local men and women who served in the armed forces through a proclamation read by Miller.
