Green Growth Toolbox is a program of the NC Wildlife Resources Commission. The program provides guidance to local governments in managing growth and development. This guidance focuses on conserving wildlife and natural resources.
In 2015, CSWCD received funding through their Partners for Green Growth initiative. This funding allowed for the creation of a Cabarrus specific Natural Resources Conservation Design Guide(PDF, 5MB). The community-produced guide was a collaborative effort of stakeholders from:
The guide highlights Cabarrus County’s valuable wildlife and natural resources. This includes the location of stakeholder identified “Priority Natural Communities”. The guide culminates in research-based recommendations and model ordinances for growth and development. These recommendations incentivize protection of Cabarrus County’s wildlife and natural resources.
