Lake Enforcement

Cabarrus County has 1,300 acres of reservoir area, more than 47 square miles of drainage basin and 24 miles of shoreline maintained and protected by Water and Sewer Authority of Cabarrus County (WSACC) in cooperation with the Lake Patrol Division.

Lake Patrol officers monitor the waters, shoreline and drainage areas of the lakes in Cabarrus County for possible chemical spills, land erosion, and any other situation that can directly impact the water supply of Cabarrus County.

The Lake Enforcement Division also enforces illegal hunting and fishing reports, trespassing, illegal dumping and other crimes.

The primary reservoir in Cabarrus County is Lake Don T. Howell in western Cabarrus County, but Concord Lake and the Mt. Pleasant Reservoir also fall under the supervision of the Cabarrus County Sheriff’s Office Lake Patrol Division.
