VIDEO: Happening in Cabarrus This Week, November 26

Nov. 27, 2017 --CTW catches a rehearsal at the Old Courthouse Theatre for a beloved American holiday classic, “It’s a Wonderful Life: A Live Radio Play.”

This classic comes to captivating life as a live 1940s radio broadcast. With the help of an ensemble that brings a few dozen characters to the stage, the story of idealistic George Bailey unfolds as he considers ending his life one fateful Christmas Eve.

The retelling of the tale adds a bit of comedy as a group of radio voice actors tell the story of Bailey and his guardian angel, Clarence. The stage is transformed into radio studio A and even includes an applause sign—a definite nod to the 40s.

Catch the performance through December 17. Tickets for “It’s a Wonderful Life: A Live Radio Play” are $20 for adults; $18 for seniors and students with ID; and $15 for children 11 and younger. You can purchase tickets by phone, at the box office or online at their new website

The Old Courthouse Theatre is located at 49 Spring Street in Concord and is now in its 40th season. The theater is an all-volunteer organization and can always use help before, during and after productions. If you are interested in giving them a hand, call 704-788-2405.
