VIDEO: Happening in Cabarrus This Week, July 1
July 2, 2018 --CTW cools off at the Kannapolis Splash Pad in Village Park. What is a Splash Pad you ask? It’s an aquatic recreation feature that combines interactive play with non-standing water. The Splash Pad is intended for all age groups and abilities. There are jets, geysers, water cannons and sprinkler-type amenities that encourage skill development and designed with the purpose to get everyone wet.
At the Kannapolis Splash Pad there are two separate play areas targeted to different age groups, but all ages can still enjoy both areas. The cost is $1.50 per person and parents who accompany children are admitted free of charge.
Swimsuits are encouraged, but if you find yourself running errands in street clothes—be spontaneous and get wet in your clothes. The splash pad is open seven days a week, Monday-Saturday, 10 a.m.-7 p.m. and Sundays, noon.–6 p.m.
Don’t feel like getting wet? Take a ride on the Rotary Express Train or the Carousel. Tickets are also $1.50 each and the operating hours are the same as the Splash Pad, Monday-Saturday, 10 a.m.-7 p.m. and Sundays, noon-6 p.m.
