Timeline revised for intersection closure in downtown Concord

The corner of Spring Street and Corban Avenue will remain closed through September 17 due to a continuing stormwater project repair. Though the intersection is closed to through-traffic, businesses and their customers still have access to the area.

The work is associated with the construction of the County’s new 614-spot downtown parking deck on the corner of Corban Avenue SW at Spring Street SW, across from the Cabarrus County Courthouse in downtown Concord. The project will help address parking demands for courthouse activities.

During construction, which is expected to last through March 2019, courthouse visitors are encouraged to park in the County’s Surface Parking Lot 2 next to Fifth Third Bank, between Church Street and McCachern Boulevard.

Cabarrus County awarded construction of the parking deck to Messer Construction Company. Morris Berg Architects and engineers Kimley-Horn completed the design and will provide construction administration of the project.
