Third Harrisburg Area Land Use Plan public meeting set for April 19
Residents and stakeholders are invited to see the culmination of several months of work at the third Harrisburg Area Land Use Plan update meeting on April 19 at Harrisburg Town Hall.
The plan update is a joint effort of Cabarrus County and the Town of Harrisburg and creates a framework for future development and guides leadership decisions. Public participation is important to the process, and between meetings and online surveys more than 600 voices have been heard.
Over the last several months, the project team has analyzed data and feedback from community partners to determine emerging themes, market trends and common goals. The collaboration also resulted in a preferred long-range planning scenario.
The third community input session is scheduled for Thursday, April 19, from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m., at Harrisburg Town Hall, 4100 Main St.
At the meeting, the project team is looking for final thoughts on common themes, goals and the long-range planning scenario included in the proposed draft plan. The draft documents and maps will be available for viewing during the session.
Following the April 19 meeting, the plan will go into a refinement phase before being considered in May by the Harrisburg Planning & Zoning Advisory Board and the Cabarrus County Planning and Zoning Commission. Presentations to elected officials are expected to take place in early summer.
