Lot temporarily closing in downtown Concord

Cabarrus County’s Courthouse Annex Parking Lot on Church Street between Corban and Means avenues in downtown Concord will close August 10 at 5 p.m. and remain closed through August 12. The gated lot is typically closed to the public during business hours and open on the weekends.

The closure is associated with testing related to the construction of a new downtown courthouse. The County recently selected Messer Construction and Liles Construction as the construction manager at-risk for the project, which is still in its early planning stages.

The County is also continuing construction of a new 614-spot downtown parking deck on the corner of Corban Avenue SW at Spring Street SW across from the Cabarrus County Courthouse. The new deck will help address parking demands for courthouse activities.

Parking deck construction is expected to last through March 2019 and courthouse visitors are encouraged to park in the County’s Surface Parking Lot 2 next to Fifth Third Bank between Church Street and McCachern Boulevard.
