Crews working on curbs, streets around Cabarrus parking deck
Crews will work on asphalt and curbing along Spring Street and Corban Avenue this week as part of the new downtown parking deck project.
On Tuesday (Dec. 4) workers will finish the remaining sections of curb around the deck. On Wednesday (Dec. 5), crews plan to patch the asphalt between the street and new curbing.
Milling will begin on Spring Street between Barbrick Avenue and Corban on Thursday (Dec. 6).
On Friday (Dec. 7) crews will mill Corban from the Union Street intersection through the Spring intersection.
Officials say the milling will occur in one lane at a time. The milling work will remove the upper layer of asphalt to prepare the road for resurfacing, which is expected to take about two days, weather permitting.
The new deck will add more than 600 parking spaces to downtown Concord to help with increased courthouse parking needs. The project is headed into its final months-- construction is expected to last through March 2019.
