Cabarrus celebrates Independence Day

On Saturday, June 22, the Mt. Pleasant Branch of the Library will close early at 3 p.m. to prepare for the Mt. Pleasant 4th of July parade.

The Harrisburg Branch of the Library closes Wednesday, July 3 and remains closed through July 4 for the Harrisburg 4th of July Celebration. The Harrisburg Branch will reopen Friday, July 5.

The County will close all offices, libraries, senior centers, human services, the Household Hazardous Waste Facility and landfill (Irish Potato Rd.) on Thursday, July 4.

The Household Hazardous Waste Facility will continue the household hazardous waste collection as scheduled on Wednesday, July 3.

Rob Wallace, Vietnam Veterans and Camp T.N. Spencer parks are open normal hours on Thursday, July 4, from 8 a.m.- 8 p.m., and Frank Liske Park is open from 8 a.m.-9 p.m.

There are no fireworks permitted at any of the Cabarrus County parks and there are no firework shows taking place in our parks.

Republic Services curbside garbage and recyclable collections for residents in unincorporated parts of Cabarrus County will operate on a one day service delay.

The Cabarrus County Board of Commissioners work session remains on schedule for Monday, July 1, 4 p.m. in the multi-purpose room of the Government Center (65 Church St. SE, Concord).
