Dec. 3, 2012 — The Cabarrus County Register of Deeds office is temporarily functioning for limited business only. The change in operation is a result of the transition to a new Register of Deeds.
Members of the public may search records and make photocopies. However, the Register of Deeds office cannot record documents, issue birth certificates, death certificates, marriage certificates or marriage licenses. In addition, staff cannot swear in any notaries public or make certified copies.
Members of the public are able to call or visit the office and leave their contact information. Once full services are available, staff will return contact in the order they received the messages.
The Cabarrus County Board of Commissioners will reconvene at 3 p.m. today, December 3, to continue their special meeting to discuss and consider approval of the bond of the Cabarrus County Register of Deeds. The meeting will take place at the Cabarrus County Governmental Center, multi-purpose room, 2nd floor, 65 Church St. SE, Concord.
