Story time turns the page on financial literacy, April 16

April 11, 2013 — State Treasurer Janet Cowell invites local children and their parents to a special story time at the Concord Branch of the Cabarrus County Library (27 Union Street North, Concord) at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, April 16. Cowell will share information on the importance of saving money through the antics of Patches the Pig. Participants will also take part in a series of fun and interactive activities to help kick-start excitement around learning to save and spend wisely. 
According to the National Council on Financial Education, children will see one million advertisements encouraging spending before the age of 21.
