Feb. 21, 2013 -- Age is just a number and now is your chance to prove it. Cabarrus County residents age 55 and older are invited to participate in the 2013 Cabarrus County Senior Games, which will take place in March, April and May.
The Senior Games encourages older adults to be more active, learn new skills, renew old talents, live better and healthier lives, and have more fun. Events include competitions in everything from athletics to arts and are open to all skill levels.
Athletic events at the Games include walking, horseshoes, archery, badminton, billiards, bocce, cornhole, croquet, track and field, basketball, golf, table tennis, tennis, cycling, croquet, football throw, shuffleboard, softball, spin casting, swimming, bowling and more. There are even clinics available to teach various skills and provide time to practice or learn a new activity.
SilverArts events include various performing arts, cheerleading, visual arts, heritage arts and literary arts.
The early bird registration deadline is March 8 and final registration is March 20.
