Providing professional tools and quality community safety

The Harrisburg Fire Department is a local treasure. They take pride in promoting integrity, teamwork, education, peak performance and responsiveness while providing safety to the community.
Harrisburg Fire Department has gained a new tool in fighting fires—a brand new fire truck. The vehicle includes advancements that make it more environmentally friendly. The lights work off of a 12-volt system; the generator has been eliminated avoiding the release of fumes and pollutants. The new truck also deploys water hoses more effectively, increasing efficiency and timing.
Harrisburg currently has two station locations, each housing four full-time, firefighters. Next month Harrisburg will break ground for a third station, which is scheduled to open in January of 2015. This new addition accommodates for community growth within Harrisburg and will focus on the eastern part of the community.
The stations regularly offer educational tours to the community, giving folks the opportunity to learn what goes on behind the scenes, such as the maintenance of certifications and continual training.
