January 8, 2014 -- Cabarrus County Department of Human Services (DHS) invites Cabarrus County residents to attend one of the upcoming Community Forum sessions. During the next few months, leaders from the department will visit each area of the county to discuss the structure of the newly formed Department of Human Services, their goals and the work they do to assist our community.
About the forums
Did you know that in July of 2013, Cabarrus County realigned several services, including transportation, Department of Social Services and Aging Services into one Department of Human Services. Though we offer the same commitment to service, the department has streamlined operations and serves under a new advisory board.
The community forums are an opportunity for Cabarrus residents to see what the department offers, learn how it works and meet the folks who work day and night to provide essential life services to those who need it most.
Each forum will include a brief presentation on the department and its work, question and answer session, followed by a meet-and-greet with representatives from each division of DHS, giving you the opportunity to ask more or personal questions.
The community forum is free and open to anyone in Cabarrus who would like to learn more about DHS programs and its role in the county.
