Cabarrus improves Digital Counties Survey ranking in 2016

​Cabarrus among top 10 U.S. counties recognized for transparency, creating efficiencies and use of social media

July 28, 2016 – On July 21, the Center for Digital Government (CDG) and the National Association of Counties (NACo) announced the 2016 Digital Counties Survey winners. The annual survey recognizes leading examples of counties using technology to improve services and boost efficiencies.

Cabarrus placed 6th in its population category, 150,000-249,999. Cabarrus previously ranked 7th in 2016, 2nd in 2015, and 8th in both 2012 and 2013.
 
The survey, conducted by CDG and the Digital Communities program, in partnership with NACo, identifies best technology practices among U.S. counties.
 
“Digital counties have evolved to recognize the value of technology, empower their tech leaders and use new ideas to make375Digital Counties Survey 7-16.jpg life better for everyone who lives and does business in the county,” said Center for Digital Government Executive Director Todd Sander.
 
“Modern technology allows counties across the country to innovate, providing citizens with smarter, more cost-effective services,” said NACo Executive Director Matthew Chase. “The Digital Counties Survey recognizes county innovations that truly benefit our communities and, by extension, America.”
