Among its decisions at the May 19 meeting, the Board:
Recognition of Cabarrus County Government 101 Experience: Public Safety Session participants
Recognition of Cooperative Extension Youth Council Graduating Seniors
Recognition of Regional and State winners in the Soil and Water Conservation District contests
Recognition of Aiden Stiles' Eagle Scout project
Proclamation in observance of Memorial Day
Approved consent items, including Approval of Resolution Authorizing the Human Resources Director to PreAudit Certificates for Personnel Contracts and Obligations; Cabarrus County Schools Reallocation of Current Expense Funding - $877,840 ; Categorical Eligibility Resolution ; FY 15 Home & Community Care Block Grant (HCCBG) Funding Plan ; Cabarrus Literacy Council (CLC) - Continuation of Adult Basic Literacy Services and Contract ; Request to Award a Service Weapon to Sergeant Timothy Culp Upon Retirement ; and Refund and Release Report - April 2014
New business: Held public hearing and approved the Issuance of Charter School Revenue Bonds (County not responsible for paying on the bonds); public hearing and approved the E911/Addressing Services - proposed street name change; public hearing and approval of proposed text amendments to Zoning Ordinance (TEXT2014-00005) ; adopted FY14 budget amendment for contribution to the Workers Compensation Fund; the resolution approving filing of an application with the LGC and authorizing the publication of the Notice of Intent to File was tabled until the budget workshop on May 27; approved the multi-year budget amendment and related revised project ordinances related to the update of capital projects and Special Revenue Fund budget and related project ordinances; received the proposed FY15 Cabarrus County Budget and scheduled a public hearing for Monday, June 16 at 6:30 p.m.
The Cabarrus County Board of Commissioners will hold its next work session on Monday, June 2, and its next regular meeting on Monday, June 16.
