A patrol officer has numerous duties during a shift including but not limited to answering emergency and non-emergency calls, patrolling for intoxicated, reckless or dangerous drivers, preventing crime, transporting inmates, transporting subjects in mental crisis under commitment orders, assisting stranded motorists, investigating initial reports, etc.
In addition a patrol officer will also drive through communities to check residences, businesses, schools and other buildings as part of their regular duties.
If you will be gone from your house and would like to request a patrol residence check you may do so through a patrol supervisor.
