Contests

General Information

Cabarrus Soil and Water Conservation District is pleased to host annual computer designed poster, computer designed slide show, essay, poster and public speaking conservation contests, sponsored by the NC Association of Soil and Water Conservation Districts.

Contests encourage students to research a conservation theme and package what they have learned into the format of a poster, slide show, essay or speech. Entries will be judged on the strength of their conservation message, as well as the effectiveness of their communication of that message to the public.

Participating schools may submit school winners to the district contest. First place winners in each grade will advance to the area contest in March. A state contest will be held for first place area winners in May.
