$35,141.21-$40,679.92 annually


8:00 AM-5:00 PM, M-F (may require overtime and weekends during elections or special projects)

Statement of Duties

Responsible for updating methods, procedures and workflow; auditing election documents, results, and procedures; administrator for absentee ballots, candidate campaign reports, and SEIMS (State Election Information Management System) programs; specialized auditing work in the enforcement and application of all state election laws and procedures; updates existing Geocodes to reflect new districts and precincts; serves as Database Manager for SEIMS and other state software packages including software for Early Voting; trains and assists staff, new employees and volunteers; develops training materials; performs election night reporting functions, uploads election results from tabulators to central computer, transfers data files to internet, and reports results to the State Board of Elections.

Training and Experience

Requires graduation from an appropriately accredited college with an associate degree in accounting, paralegal technology, business administration or related field and two years business experience to include supervision, public contact, proofreading, accounting, or law; experience in the operation of computer equipment and the application of software processes. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. Ability to follow up and carry out various administrative duties; proficiency in English, accounting and business administrative skills; effective communication skills and public speaking; ability to supervise; ability to analyze situations and tactfully answer questions; ability to communicate professionally with a diverse group of clients and staff; considerable computer and database manager skills needed. Possession of NC Notary Public Certification or ability to obtain within one year of employment; possession of a valid NC Driver’s license. This position has been determined to be non-exempt under the overtime provisions of the Fair Labor Standads.
