Medical Director: Dr. Craig Corey, MD, FACEP

CoreyDr. Corey has served as the Cabarrus Medical Director and a CMC-Northeast Medical Center Staff Emergency Physician since 1994. He began his career in emergency medicine as a paramedic in 1975 with Denver Paramedic Ambulance. He graduated from the George Washington University School of Medicine and performed his residency at Brooke Army Medical Center. He has served appointments as Staff Emergency Physician, Chief of Emergency Department, Medical Director and Educational Medical Advisor. He is currently Board Certified in Emergency Medicine and maintains involvement with Cabarrus EMS as Medical Director and Special Operations Response as well as the NDMS NC-1 Federal Disaster Team. Additionally, he served with the US Army. He works with several volunteer agencies, both locally and internationally. Dr. Corey spends his spare time with his family.

Director: COL Alan Thompson, NRP, BS, AAS, TEMS

ThompsonAlan Thompson has served as Cabarrus EMS Director since 2013. He began his career in Emergency Medical Services in 1985 before coming to Cabarrus EMS in 1990. He has served as a paramedic, relief supervisor, supervisor, tactical medic and Assistant Director prior to his current assignment. He is a graduate of Davidson Community College with an Associate Degree in Emergency Medical Science and a Bachelor of Science in Emergency and Disaster Management from Western Carolina University. He has performed additional course work through Duke University. He is also a graduate of the UNCC EMS Management Training Institute. He maintains instructor credentials in multiple disciplines. He has maintained a strong presence in the area of education and advanced cardiac and stroke care. Additionally, he served with the US Army. He volunteers his time in several areas of the community. Alan spends his spare time with his family, hunting, fishing and running.

Assistant Director: MAJ Jimmy Lentz, NRP, AAS, TEMS

LentzJimmy Lentz has served as Cabarrus EMS Assistant Director since 2013. He began his career in Emergency Medical Services in 1990 with Cabarrus EMS. He has served as a paramedic, field training officer, relief supervisor and supervisor prior to his current assignment. He currently serves as a tactical paramedic assigned to a local police tactical team. He is a graduate of Davidson Community College with an Associate Degree in Emergency Medical Science. He has completed several administrative educational programs and the UNCC EMS Management Training Institute. He maintains active involvement in the community and spends his spare time with his family

Shift Supervisor: CPT Bob Williams, NRP, AAS

WilliamsBob Williams has served as Cabarrus EMS Shift Supervisor since 2005. He began his career in Emergency Medical Services in 1983 before coming to Cabarrus EMS in 1989. He has served as a paramedic and relief supervisor prior to his current assignment. He is a graduate of Davidson Community College with an Associate Degree in Emergency Medical Science. He has completed administrative education programs and is a graduate of the UNCC EMS Management Training Institute. He maintains an active role in disaster planning and EMS education. He volunteers his time in several areas of the community. He spends his spare time with his family and in the outdoors.

Shift Supervisor: CPT Chris Love, EMT-P, BS, AAS

LoveChris Love has served as Cabarrus EMS Shift Supervisor since 2014. He began his career in Emergency Medical Services in 1992 with Cabarrus EMS. He has served as a paramedic, field training officer and relief supervisor prior to his current assignment. He is a graduate of Stanly Community College with an Associate Degree and Western Carolina University with a Bachelor Degree in Emergency and Disaster Management. He has completed several administrative educational programs and the UNCC EMS Management Training Institute. He maintains active involvement in the community and spends his spare time with his family and fishing.

Specialty Services Supervisor: CPT Justin Brines, NRP, BS, AAS, TEMS

BrinesJustin Brines has served as Cabarrus EMS Shift Supervisor since 2013. He began his career in Emergency Medical Services with Cabarrus EMS in 1998. He has served as a paramedic, field training officer, relief supervisor and shift supervisor prior to his current assignment. In addition to his duties as Specialty Services Supervisor, he also serves as a tactical medic with the local police department. He is a graduate of Davidson Community College with an Associate Degree in Emergency Medical Science and Western Carolina University with a Bachelor Degree in Emergency and Disaster Management. Justin is also a graduate of the UNCC EMS Management Training Institute and several other leadership programs. He maintains an active presence in prehospital education and continues to hold instructor credentials in multiple disciplines. He volunteers his time in several areas of the community. He spends his spare time with family.

Shift Supervisor: CPT Mike Smith, EMT-P, AAS, TEMS

BrinesMike Smith has served as Cabarrus EMS Shift Supervisor since 2015. He began his career in EMS in 1989 before coming to Cabarrus EMS in 1990. He has served as a paramedic, field training officer and relief supervisor prior to his current assignment. In addition to his duties as shift supervisor, he also serves as the HazMat Medic Team leader. He is a graduate of Davidson Community College with an Associate Degree in Emergency Medical Science. He is also a graduate of the UNCC EMS Management Training Institute.

Shift Supervisor: CPT Will Cannon, NRP, MS, BS, TEMS

BrinesWill Cannon has served Cabarrus EMS as a Supervisor since 2016. He began his career in Emergency Services in 1999 with a local volunteer fire department and was hired by Cabarrus EMS in 2001. He has served as a paramedic crew chief, field training officer, Lieutenant and Captain. In addition to his duties as a shift supervisor, he serves as the Cardiac Arrest (CARES) program coordinator, an ATV medic, STORM team member, SMAT III team member and as a tactical medic with a local SWAT team. He is a graduate of the American Military University where he earned a Masters in Emergency and Disaster Management and holds two Bachelors degrees from Eastern Kentucky University in Fire and Safety Engineering Technology and Emergency Medical Care. He holds instructor credentials in multiple disciplines. Additionally, he served with the US Army. He enjoys spending time with his wife, family and in the outdoors.
