The Watershed Improvement Commission works closely with the Cabarrus Soil and Water Conservation District and seeks to improve county water resources. Commission activities include efforts to reduce flooding, improve water quality and reduce future problems through erosion control, water storage, cover protection and education.
The commission is comprised of three members who are appointed by the Board of County Commissioners.
Appointments are for six-year terms.
