Aalece Pugh is a licensed psychologist who obtained her doctorate, master of arts and bachelor of arts degrees in psychology from the University of Missouri-Columbia. Throughout her career, she has served in various leadership roles with Mecklenburg County, Atrium Health and Alliance Health.

Aalece joined Cabarrus County earlier this year as Behavioral Health Director, helping to oversee the Behavioral Health Center, monitor the County’s jail-based Stepping Up Program and collaborate with Partners Health Management. In her role as Assistant County Manager, she will oversee Cabarrus County's Human Services (DHS) and Behavioral Health departments and will serve as liaison to the Cabarrus Health Alliance.
