The Criminal Investigations Division (CID) oversees the investigation of all reported crimes in the Cabarrus County Sheriff’s Office response areas, as well as working proactive investigations to combat such crimes as the narcotics trade, sexual assaults, sexual exploitation of minors, human trafficking, domestic assaults, property crime and many more. They collaborate with other divisions within the agency such as the Patrol Division and the Crime Reduction Unit to have a comprehensive response to proactively combating crime in Cabarrus County. The division is led by Lieutenant April Samples. The Criminal Investigations Division is comprised of three divisions that work closely together; the Detective Division, Vice and Narcotics Investigation and Crime Scene Investigations.
