Cabarrus Soil and Water Conservation District has received its annual cost share allocation. This allocation comes from the state. These funds help reduce ground and surface water pollution associated with storm water runoff. Common pollutants addressed through conservation efforts include animal waste, fertilizers, pesticides and sediments - the most common water pollutant by volume. Rural, suburban, and urban areas are now eligible for financial and technical assistance. Reimbursement for most conservation practices is seventy-five percent of established average costs.

The Conservation District received over $57,961 in Agriculture Cost Share Program funds. This amount is from the state for the current program year ending June 30, 2024.
The District has also received over $10,000 in state funds for the current year. These funds are for the Agricultural Water Resources Assistance Program (AgWRAP). These cost-share funds are available to address water quantity issues. Priority practices established by the Conservation District Board for Cabarrus County include wells. These funds are available to agriculture producers.
