The Weatherization Assistance Program strives to make homes more energy efficient. This provides help to low-income, elderly and disabled persons by reducing energy costs.

Clients may be any age, must be income eligible, may live in a house or mobile home as a homeowner or renter. For rental units, the property owner must:

  • pay a nominal fixed fee for the repair or replacement costs
  • not increase rent for two years from the completion date

This program is available to all County residents.

Tests are performed to check for carbon monoxide, efficacy and air leakage.

  • Repair of windows and doors
  • Insulation of all types
  • Replacement of water heaters
  • Installation of vents
  • Installation of vapor barriers
  • Building of attic and crawl space doors
