The Board of Elections typically meets every 2nd and 4th Monday of the month. These meetings take place if there is business to conduct. To find out if there will be a board meeting, see if there is an agenda posted, or call our office at 704-920-2860.
Meeting frequency increases in the weeks leading up to an election. The schedule of absentee ballot, canvass and special meetings will be posted.
Meetings are conducted in-person, and members of the public are welcome to attend. Review the public comment policy if you would like to address the board.
There are currently 5 sitting members on the Board of Elections. Members are:
- appointed by the local Democrat and Republican parties
- approved by the Governor's office
