Veterans can reflect, connect at annual Christmas Breakfast

Cabarrus veterans and their families are invited to the December 19 event

Dec. 13, 2013 – The annual Veterans Christmas Breakfast, hosted by Cabarrus County Veterans Services, is more a reunion than a holiday celebration. This year’s event will take place on Thursday, December 19, from 9-11 a.m. at the Cabarrus County Government Center (65 Church Street, SW, Concord, 2nd Floor, Multipurpose Room).

The breakfast is a free and open to all veterans and their families living in Cabarrus County.

Each year, several generations of service men and women from every branch of the military gather around tables to break bread, swap stories and rib each other. Some make new friends, some reconnect with long-time friends, and others quietly eat and reflect.

“It makes us proud to host this event each year,” said Tim Tereska, director of Cabarrus County’s Veterans Services. “The breakfast is a great way to establish new relationships and thank them for their service. We want Cabarrus veterans to know the County is here to support them and their families year round.”
