The Gold Rush hits North Cabarrus Park

This week’s CTW takes viewers on a flake-finding adventure in one of our County’s parks

May 27, 2014 -- Cabarrus This Week is out at North Cabarrus Park to get down and dirty to find some gold.
North Carolina was home to the very first gold rush. You can find out if there is any left at the Cabarrus County Gold Rush event taking place, Saturday, May 31, beginning at 10 a.m. at North Cabarrus Park. Test your luck and pan for some gold in streams, dirt and sand.  Bring the fame back to North Carolina or just relive the excitement. The cost is $2 per person; registration is required by Thursday, May 29.
 
North Cabarrus Park is one of three County maintained parks in Cabarrus County. Located in the Northwest side of the county, North Cabarrus Park is a great place to come and play in the creek or enjoy the 1.2-mile walking trail. The park has 90 acres to enjoy various activities and beautiful scenery to accompany them. The park features courts for volleyball, bocce ball, basketball, horseshoes and disc golf.
