Learn how County operations are impacted by the September 1 holiday
August 25, 2014 — Cabarrus County parks are open for fun on the Labor Day holiday. Visitors can rent paddleboats and play miniature golf from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. at Frank Liske Park, which is open between 8 a.m. and 9 p.m. North Cabarrus and Camp T. N. Spencer parks are open between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m. The pool at Camp T.N. Spencer Park will open from 10 a.m.-7 p.m. on Labor Day then close for the season.
The Cabarrus County landfill on Irish Potato Road is open from 8 a.m. until 2 p.m. on Saturday, August 30.
All four branches of the Cabarrus County Public Library System will close on Saturday, August 30.
Cabarrus County government offices, including the Cabarrus County Governmental Center, Department of Human Services, all library branches, senior centers, county landfill and the household hazardous waste facility will close on Monday, September 1, in observance of the holiday.
The Board of County Commissioners work session that would typically fall on Monday will move to Tuesday, September 2, at 4 p.m. in the multi-purpose room of the Cabarrus County Government Center.
Republic Services curbside garbage and recyclable collections for residents in unincorporated parts of Cabarrus are on a one-day delay.
