Sept. 9, 2013 — We visited the Cabarrus County Fair, which is one of the biggest and most anticipated events of the year. The Fair-A-Tales Come True themed fair runs until Sept. 14 and has something for the entire family.

If you and your children like animals you are in luck! There will be a petting zoo, pig races, and even an alpaca performance. There is also a chainsaw artist, an acrobatic thrill show, an illusion show, and of course exhilarating rides. You can also browse through craft tables, photography exhibits, and tables of baked goods. If you get hungry you’ll have your choice of several food vendors. You and your family can also take in some great local and regional musical acts.

Tickets are $7 for adults and $3 for children aged 6 to 11. Parking is free! The fair runs until Sept. 14 at the Cabarrus County Fairgrounds (4759 NC Highway 49 North, Concord).
