Sept. 23, 2013 —
This week we at important event aimed at keeping your children safe.  The second annual Safety Palooza took place on Sept. 21 in the Kmart parking lot in Concord. The Safety Palooza is the largest fundraiser for the Safe Kids Cabarrus Coalition.

Safe Kids Cabarrus is part of a national movement to educate our communities on ways to prevent unintentional injury to children.  According Safe Kids, approximately 630 children are killed each year in pedestrian-related crashes and more than 39,000 children are injured.

SafekidsCab39-13.jpgThe Safe Kids Cabarrus Coalition is dedicated to improving safety by working to lower speed limits and support more pedestrian walkways. Through safety events, including an annual Safety Palooza, and regular car seat safety checks, bike rodeos and educational opportunities, the Safe Kids Cabarrus team works to make sure you and your children have access to information and the tools every family needs to prevent injury in your home, neighborhood, school and community. Most importantly, they make safety education as fun as it is informative.

SafekidsCab29-13.jpgSafe Kids Cabarrus provides these services to our community at no cost to participants. The organization relies on the support of local businesses, organizations and community members who share their vision to reduce the number of preventable injuries to children.
