Register now for the 2014 Senior Games, deadline March 20

March 12, 2014 -- The Senior Games are back with competitions in April, May and June. The Senior Games encourages older adults to be more active, learn new skills, renew old talents, live better and healthier lives, and have more fun.

Events include competitions in everything from athletics to arts and are open to all skill levels.

Athletic events at the Games include walking, horseshoes, archery, badminton, billiards, bocce, corn hole, croquet, track and field, basketball, golf, table tennis, tennis, cycling, croquet, football throw, shuffleboard, softball, spin casting, swimming, bowling and more. There are even clinics available to teach various skills and provide time to practice or learn a new activity.

SilverArts events include various performing arts, cheerleading, visual arts, heritage arts and literary arts.

Cabarrus residents can pick up a registration packet at the senior centers in Concord (331 Corban Ave. SE) and Mt. Pleasant (8615 Park Dr.). Eligibility for the Senior Games is now 50 years and older and the registration deadline is March 20.
