Orient Express showcases Orientalism’s impact on contemporary art, exploring how Eastern history, developments and culture have impacted viewpoints through artwork in Western culture. The diverse selection of mediums embody Asian influence, some are subtle while others are more pronounced. Visitors see the translation of 19th century Orientalism into modern times.

The Orient Express includes artwork by 15 contemporary Southeastern artists. The beautiful collection features a variety of mediums including natural silk, paper cut art, watercolors, pastels, pottery and oil paintings.

The Galleries, which are operated by the Cabarrus Arts Council, are open Monday-Saturday, 10 a.m.-4 p.m. The Galleries will be closed April 18-27 for the holiday.

The Galleries shop is the perfect place to come for beautifully handcrafted gifts and original works of art. You can always find one-of-a-kind treasures thanks to partnerships with Piedmont Craftsmen, Wooden Stone Gallery and many other individual artists.
